At Secrets, we are working hard to continue to increase the percentage of responsibly sourced gold we use each year, until we are 100% confident our gold is conflict free.

To do this, we need to ensure our partners are transparent and accountable and support our goal to use 100% responsibly sourced or recycled gold in our jewellery.  We have purposely curated and restricted the number of manufacturing partners we work with to build closer relationships with the same values and full transparency.

Right now, nearly all our partners carry certifications from the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), the world’s leading organisation in promoting standards in responsible business sourcing practices and product disclosure, to advocate trust in global jewellery supply chains.

The Responsible Jewellery Council Certification is one of the most comprehensive international frameworks for risk mitigation practices around health and safety, human rights, fair labour, governance, and environmental protection.  As such many of our manufacturing partners now source their gold from responsible refineries listed on the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) approved list of refineries, the Responsible Mineral Initiative (RMI) and the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) Chain of Custody. 

By 2025, we aim to ensure all our supplier gold comes to us through legitimate and established protocols, is conflict-free, and responsibly sourced. 

While we recognise there is more to be done to achieve this goal, this year we report that approximately 95% of our jewellery collections use 100% responsibly sourced gold. This means we are able to deliver on our client expectations across our most popular lines, including the majority of our top-selling earrings, rings, pendants, necklets, bracelets and more.
